So I recently decided to try out a few new travel blogs and I’m glad I did, because I found some amazing posts that aren’t just informational but interesting as well. Blogs like these are what gave me the courage to travel the world on my own, and I’m so glad I’ve found some new ones to keep up with and look to for inspiration!

lantern releaseThe Yi Peng Lantern Release: In Photos: This post is more pictures than words, but each of these pictures is worth much more than a thousand words. I had to include this blog post because my boyfriend and I just barely missed being in Chiang Mai for the Yi Peng festival by literally one day. While I’m disappointed I didn’t get to see it in person (there were a few people who were getting started early though) Lauren from NeverEndingFootsteps took some pretty amazing photos, which just make me want to be there for it next year that much more!

brokenwingFlying With a Broken Wing: I met the owner of this blog, Riley Blott, while staying at the Niras Bankoc hostel in Bangkok. He mentioned that he had a blog, and I immediately jumped at the opportunity to read it. I wasn’t sure what i was expecting, but after only a few minutes I was busting up with laughter. The story of a group of guys traveling from Canada to Thailand together is truly hilarious and the way he writes puts you right inside the mind of a twenty-something male (a truly fascinating thing) if you’re looking for some interesting stories and good laughs, this blog is it.

homeless16What I Learned From Backpacking the World at 16: This is a guest blog post from the creator of The Runaway Guide and I just had to add it, because, while relatively short, this post speaks volumes. Leif says in a few short paragraphs what many people need thousands of pages and countless words to say: that life is what you make it. I was truly inspired by what he had to say and after traveling for only a few short months, really accepted the truth of he had to say.

workingdigitalnomadWorking as a Digital Nomad: This blog post isn’t for everyone. In fact if you don’t ever plan on working while you travel, especially long-term, then this blog post will most likely be extremely boring to you. But for people like me who are dying to know how to work while I travel so that I never have to stop traveling, posts like this are a wealth of useful information. Not only does this couple give their own tips on being a digital nomad, but they also include links to other blog posts with similar content. If you’re interested in traveling long-term then this is a great blog to check out.

wildabouttravelAs the Southeast Asia Journey is Coming to an End: Reading Simon’s post about his feelings toward Southeast Asia really reminded me just how differently each and every one of us sees the world around us. Where as I love Southeast Asia BECAUSE it’s so different from what I’m used to, that seems to be the same reason that Simon didn’t like it as much. I love how different everyone is from everyone else. I love that everyone’s opinions are so different, and that there are no two people exactly alike, because how boring would that be? So travel to Southeast Asia for yourself, and then decide… do you love it? do you hate it? or neither?
